I have been working in University College Cork as a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health for almost 20 years, having originally trained as a mental health nurse. My professional bio can be found here: http://research.ucc.ie/profiles/C014/aine.odonovan@ucc.ie . I am passionate about working with marginalised groups as well as promoting child and adolescent mental health and well-being. I gain energy from mentoring junior colleagues, and working to co-create a space for those who are often unheard in society to have a voice. Aside from that, my most important work is as a mum to two young children who keep me very busy. I love listening to music (everything from pop to blues music), it has had a profound impact on my life by helping me cope with the challenges that can get thrown at us. I used to play a lot of sport, but following an injury 7 years ago, I am more likely to be found on the side lines of a rugby match!
