Alex van Oostveen
Faculty Roles: Coach Mentor, Credentialed Observer, Support Staff, Coaching Supervisor
Coaching Credential: ICF PCC, EMCC ESIA EIA
As practitioners, coaches, supervisors, the way we work with people reveals our beliefs about how personal and professional growth happen. Growth is not a direct path towards outcomes and solutions. It requires a deepened of understanding self, relationships, and the systems we are part of. Optimum solutions and outcomes for self and all parties to the system emerge from this understanding. Insight naturally leads to meaningful and sustainable action. I am certified by EMCC Global as coach/mentor supervisor (ESIA) and Accredited Coach (EIA) at Senior Practitioner level, and hold a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with ICF. My 20-year previous career in military helicopter operational flying and advanced flight instruction affords me insight and experience in multi-faceted and risk-prone settings. I had the privilege of flying as both wingman and leader of the South African Air Force's formation aerobatic team for 4 years, promoting aviation in RSA and neighbouring countries. In these roles I experienced the successes, failures and unique challenges leaders face. More importantly I learned the value of effective communication and potent relationships within complex, high-risk, and dynamic organisational environments. Using a relational approach, and informed by psychological theories (transactional analysis, Gestalt), I work with leaders and executive coaches to problem-solve more effectively, in the spheres of systems, relationships, tasks, and self. This approach sees what emerges in our professional relationship as a window into what occurs in your life. The meaningful change that happens in our work together, supports meaningful change in your life.

am a father (of 4), husband, trained professional coach, member of International Coaching Federation (ICF), and director in a technology multi-national, living in Cork. I am passionate believer in the power of coaching, done right, to unleash transformative growth, through a combination of building self-awareness, personal responsibility and accountabilty. I experienced this myself 7 years ago and it has had life changing impact both personally and professionally. My mantra is Viktor Frankl’s quote “between stimulus and response is the freedom to choose” – we all have the freedom to choose our response to the scenarios we find ourselves in, and coaching gives us the awareness to consciously choose that response. I believe we have boundless potential that remains untapped, and I love partnering with my clients to unlock theirs.

Tom Caffrey
Faculty Roles: Support Staff
Coaching Credential: ACC (EMCC)
I am married with one son and I share my time between Limerick City and Kerry. I am an ACC accredited leadership coach, building on my experience as a commissioned officer in the military and a business executive in the aviation industry. Being coached in the people-centered ‘Lean’ principles, as we transformed our struggling business, ignited my interest in coaching, within our company, throughout our corporation and within several international business networks. I found that technical, expert enterprises were often limited by over-valuing, and promoting, technical expertise above great people and leadership skills. This prompted me to found 'SuccessAbility Leadership Coaching' to empower selected experts to step forward and to become the leaders that their business needs, and that team-members deserve. Having undertaken Level 1 training in 2014, and Level 2 in 2023, I am delighted to consolidate my learning once again in 2025 and to support other learners in any way I can.
